Sandoz Scholarship for Young Leaders

Provider: One Young World
Funding: Fully Funded
Study level: Any Level
Deadline: April 27, 2026

The One Young World is pleased to announce its Sandoz Scholarship to support young leaders tackling systemic barriers to healthcare in their communities, countries or the world at large.

The scholarship focuses on supporting initiatives such as creating digital or AI tools to expand healthcare access in underserved areas, developing supply-chain solutions for delivering essential medicines to remote regions, running health education or training programs in underserved communities, and advocating for policies that make healthcare and medicines more affordable and accessible.

Through this initiative, five outstanding young leaders will be selected to join the global Sandoz delegation at the One Young World Summit scheduled from 3–6 November 2025 in Cape Town. This platform enables participants to connect with like-minded changemakers, collaborate on global health challenges, and amplify their impact through shared learning and engagement.

Selected scholars will receive full access to the One Young World Summit, hotel accommodation in Cape Town from 2 to 7 November, economy-class travel, meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner on core Summit days, and ground transportation between accommodation and the venue. They will also participate in Sandoz-hosted sessions and benefit from a dedicated “buddy” system to enhance networking and engagement throughout the program.

The scholarship is designed for early-stage leaders who demonstrate a strong commitment to creating positive change in healthcare systems and addressing inequalities in access to medicines and care. Applicants are expected to show leadership potential, a clear understanding of healthcare challenges within their communities or globally, and proven experience in implementing practical or innovative solutions.

Eligibility requires applicants to be between 18 and 30 years old, although individuals above 30 may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional impact, initiative, and willingness to engage. Applicants must also not be under 18 at the time of the Summit and should have a track record of contributing to healthcare improvement or reducing disparities in access.
